NEWS:
My painting, "The Feast" is included in a national exhibition at the Stedman Gallery, Rutgers University, Camden, "Seeing Voices: the Visual Voice", March 15-April 21, 2010. I will be attending the accompanying symposium, April 9 - 10, 2010 to speak about the development of my work.
I am included in a group exhibition at Vanderbilt University, "The Painter's Eye", March 2010 and will be giving an artist lecture/studio crits on March 30, 2010.
Two upcoming exhibitions are: a small group exhibition at the Ewing Gallery, University of Tennessee, "Knoxville and Vicinity", August, 2010, curated by Sam Yates and a solo exhibition, "Alchemical Narratives" at the University Gallery, Valdosta State University, Georgia, September--October, 2010.
Also in August, 2010, I will be installing a site specific painting, "Lauren Flying Solo", an 8' x 15' polyptch, for the "Flying Solo" exhibition series at the Nashville International Airport. The work will be shown from August, 2010 -- February, 2011.

My "Seven Deadly Sins" painting, 2009, 72" x 96", was featured in the "New American Paintings" 30th anniversary edition, February, 2010.
My solo exhibition, "Eide/Eidola" will open at the Flood Gallery Fine Arts Center on Friday, November 13 and continue until December 15. The reception will take place from 7 - 10 pm. Please see the following link for more information, a press release and images.

"Fall", oil on canvas, 48" x 48", 2008, will be included in a group exhibition as a part of a symposium on art and spirituality in Charleston, SC and opening on Saturday, August 29, 2009. More details about this exhibition and symposium may be found at: Sheshallbecalledwoman.info
"Fall" was reproduced on the cover of the "Charleston City Paper" Arts Issue, Vol. 13, issue 2, August 26, 2009, and the exhibition was reviewed on page 49 of the same issue. "Forbidden Fruit"

I will be having a solo exhibition of the "Rebis" paintings at the Flood Art Gallery in Asheville, NC, from November 13--December 5, 2009. Please see the following link for more information: Flood Gallery
My painting, "Three Graces of New Orleans" (shown on the home page) was shown in the Regional Juried Exhibition, Dogwood Arts Festival, Knoxville, TN, during April, 2009.
My painting, "Gilgamesh" was shown in the NC Artists Exhibition, juried by Dr. Kimerly Rorschach, Director of the Nasher Museum of Art, Duke University. The exhibition will be on view from March 1-May 3, 2009 at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, Raleigh, NC.

Dr. Virginia Spivey gave a lecture about the paintings in my solo exhibition, "Rebis" at the William King Regional Arts Center in Abingdon, VA on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 3 pm. Please see the following link for more information: Spivey Lecture on Rebis
I was a visiting artist at Western Carolina University on March 19, 2009. The visit included critiques of student work in the MFA program.
